Your Data, Your Control
FaceJournal is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your selfies, journal entries, health data, and personal information belong to you.
What We Collect
- Selfie Photos: Stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your private cloud storage via Supabase. Photos are never shared with third parties.
- Journal Data: Mood scores, energy levels, notes, and tags are stored locally and optionally synced. Only you can access your data.
- Health Data: If you connect Apple Health, we read sleep, heart rate, steps, and activity data. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
- AI Analysis: Your selfie is sent to Google's Gemini AI for analysis. Google's API does not retain images after processing. The analysis results are stored locally.
- Account Information: Email address for authentication via Apple Sign-In or email login.
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We don't use your photos for advertising or marketing.
- We don't share your health data with third parties.
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Cloud Sync
Cloud sync is optional. When enabled, your journal entries and photos are stored in a private Supabase database with row-level security —only your authenticated account can access your data.
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time from Settings > Delete All Data. This permanently removes all journal entries, photos, and settings from your device and cloud storage.
